I drawed these two boys a long time ago, but I'm posting them now because someone became interested in them... and I can't draw anything new 'cuz I'm studying a lot!! *snifff*

So... Hypnos (left) and Thanatos (right) are twins and powerful gods who live in... guess where? Yep! THE UNDERWORLD!! :la: They are the sons of Nyx (the Night) and Erebus (the Darkness).
Thanatos is the personification of a non violent-death, very much like Macaria (although I think Macaria is a particular kind of Blessed Death, the one we all want for us). He flies with his silent wings and a torch with which he guides people to the Underworld. He’s merciless and indiscriminate… but in some stories, some chosen ones can outwit him. He's said to be more kind than Hades or the Keres (violent death).
Hypnos is the personification of the sleep. The legend says every night Thanatos and Hypnos would discuss who will take men… and sometimes Thanatos wins, but most of the time, thankfully, it's Hypnos who does. Another legend says Hypnos doesn’t have the powerful abduction skills Thanatos has and he’s constantly trying to imitate him. Because of this, the majority of us people don’t die, Hypnos only lets us sleep for a while :aww: Anyway, Hypnos is quite nice and idle. He lives in a dark cave with poppies in the entrance. The river of forgetfulness, Lethe, flows through his realm.

I hope you like this :meow:

I have a good idea for a new form of mythology.
The moon goddess Selene
Nymph Chione, goddess of snow
Asteria goddess of astronomy and necromancy
Pasithea goddess of hallucination

Hi! I was going to draw Pasithea as she's Hypnos' wife, but all the other ideas are amazing, too! Now I want to draw them all, maybe in one picture together! ;) Thanks a lot for your comment!

On that quote -- "Death, like Sleep, comes to us all." (A Ancient Greek or Mesopotamian(-ish) mythology) -- I heard about in school, years ago, it is a lesson learned in the "Epic of Gilgamesh", in Gilgamesh's search for immortality.

"Death, like Sleep, comes to us all." (A Ancient Greek or Mesopotamian(-ish) mythology)

Again, Love your artwork.

Drawing on my own knowledge of Greek Mythology, Thanatos was a God of Death, like the Grim Reaper, or the Shinigami of Shintoism. Thanatos' role was that of a Psychopomp, (lit. "guide of souls" -- See: [link]), and his fellow Greek Psychopomp deities are Charon, Hecate and Hermes, (who gained the role as a Psychopomp because, as a God of Tricksters, he could not be tricked, as Thanatos and Persephone were tricked by Sisyphus). What I mean is that Thanatos is not a God of the Dead, he was a God of Death. Macaria and Melinoe were both Goddesses of the Dead, representing those souls who got to go to the Elysian Fields, or those souls who wandered the earth respectively, and Macaria and Melinoe's father, Hades was the God of the realm of the Dead.

Hypnos was the of the Oneiroi, (Morpheus (Dreams), Phobetor (Nightmares), Phantasos/Phantasus (Inanimate objects in Prophetic dreams), and Ikelos (People in Prophetic dreams)), the four Gods of Dreams. (See: [link]). Will you possibly be doing any artwork reguarding these four in the future?
