Description

At last, I've finished them! Daughters of Zeus and Mnemosyne, they are the embodiments and protectors of art and inspiration. Not all of them turned out as I imagined, but I decided to post them all together like this :meow: I hope you like them! (They form a rainbow or something, I know it's kinda cheesy) :dummy:

From left to right, in each line, they are:
Melpomene: the Muse of Tragedy. It was common to invoke her to get beautiful and dramatic phrases. Her emblem is the tragic mask, but she also wears a high belt and cothurnus, the boots worn by tragic actors.
Thalia: the Muse of Comedy. Her emblem is the comic mask (which always seemed kinda creepy to me) and the ivy wreath. She also wears boots. She was also considered the muse of idyllic poetry, so she must be an optimistic one :D
Euterpe: the Muse of Music, she plays many instruments, but her emblem is the aulos, a double-flute from Ancient Greece that she invented.
Clio: the Muse of History. She was the mother of Hyacinth, one of Apollo's lovers ;) Her emblems are the scrolls, but I prefer a good book.
Calliope: arguably the leader of the muses, she's the Muse of Epicness, I mean Epic poetry. She was Homer's muse, that says it all. She was also a lover of Ares and had many children with him not making Aphrodite angry or anything because, you know, Calliope is awesome
Urania: the Muse of Astronomy. Her emblems are the globe and the compass, but I forgot the compass and put many stars in her crown and cloak because I love stars. Also, she's the muse who protects philosophers.
Erato: the Muse of love and erotic poetry  She holds a cithara, a lyre from Ancient Greece, and wears a wreath of roses and myrtle. She and Eros usually work together, so beware.
Terpsichore: the Muse of Dance. I didn't like the classical depiction of her sitting down playing a lyre. I think the muse of dance should, you know, dance around
Polyhymnia: the Muse of Sacred hymns, poetry and eloquence. She wears a veil and is always shown meditative and serious. I think she should get to happy conclusions about life sometimes so here I gave her a smile :aww:

...so many different muses I'm so tired!

"We are the Muses, Goddesses of the arts and proclaimers of heros."

"Heros like Hercules."

"Honey, you mean Hunkules. Woohoohoo! I like to make some sweet music . . ."

"Our story, actually begin long before Hercules, many aeons ago."
